Ask For Help
Dear Reader,
Asking for help is one of the hardest things we do especially for ambitious women because we’re taught to be independent, to “figure things out,” and to have it all together.
But the truth is, no one makes it alone.
We all need guidance. Whether it’s someone to help us see what we can’t, or simply a voice of encouragement when we’re overwhelmed.
I know it’s hard to reach out. It can feel vulnerable, like you’re admitting you don't know something. But the power of asking for help is far more than you realize.
Asking for help is strength not weakness because, when you ask for help, you get to learn from someone’s experience. You skip over mistakes they’ve already made, giving you a head start.
One of the biggest myths is that you should be able to “do it all” without support.
But no successful person got there alone.
When asking for help, be specific.
Instead of saying, “Can you help me with my career?” ask, “I’m struggling with finding clarity in my career path, can you share any advice on how you figured out your direction?”
Also, be open to feedback. Don’t just ask for help—you also need to be ready to listen and apply the advice given. Don’t just expect praise; expect constructive feedback.
After asking for help, check back with them and let them know how their advice impacted you. This keeps the relationship going and shows gratitude.
