Happy New Month + Community updates
Stories, tips, tools, and encouragement.
Hello, Inspire Her Afrika’s Family,
April already? Somebody please explain how we’re four months into 2026. 😅
So, we’ve officially entered Q2, and if you’re anything like us, you’re feeling a mix of ‘where did the time go?’ and ‘okay, let’s make this quarter count.’
Q1 gave us lessons (some we asked for, some we definitely didn’t), and now Q2 is here like a fresh notebook waiting to be filled.
Whether you’re crushing it or just trying to keep your head above water, we see you, we’re proud of you, and we’re here to support you as you navigate this next quarter.
So what’s been happening with us at Inspire Her Afrika?
2025 Impact Report: Impact Stories Beyond The Numbers
Last year, we set out to provide young African women with the mentorship, resources, and community they deserve through our annual mentorship program for early career African women.
We had 350+ applications received, 10 African countries reached and 100 women trained through the Bootcamp.
Our 2025 Impact Report is here. See what we built, what we learned, stories of change beyond the numbers, and where we’re headed.
Call For Mentors
Think back to a moment when someone believed in you before you believed in yourself. When someone took the time to guide you or simply listen when you needed direction.
Now, you have the chance to be that person for someone else.
The Inspire Her Afrika Mentorship Program is looking for experienced professionals to mentor the next generation of African women leaders.
Skills Corner: Communication Skills
Practice active listening : Before responding in conversations, pause for 2 seconds. It shows thoughtfulness and often leads to better responses.
Give a specific compliment: Instead of “great job,” try “the way you handled that client concern was impressive because...”
Learn to disagree gracefully: Use “Yes, and...” instead of “No, but...” to build on ideas while offering alternatives.
Ask better questions: Replace “Does that make sense?” with “What questions do you have?” it invites real dialogue.
IHA Big Sis Corner
Sis, if Q1 didn’t go the way you planned, if you fell off track, gave up on a goal, or just feel like you wasted the first three months of the year, I need you to hear this: You’re allowed to start over at this very moment.
The interesting part? April isn’t January, so there’s no pressure, no ‘New Year, New You’ noise. It’s just another chance to try again without announcing it.
Every day is a potential turning point. Every month is a fresh start and this April? It can be yours.
So whatever you’ve been putting off, whatever dream you let go of, whatever version of yourself you’ve been too afraid to step into, this is your sign to begin again, beautiful. You’ve got this.
New Blog Post: What No One Tells You About Taking Up Space
We often imagine “taking up space” as the big moments, but what about the small, consistent and often invisible decisions that shape your becoming?
In our new blog we share what taking up space really looks like.
What’s Happening Around The Globe For African Women
The “AI Aunt” Initiative: In South Africa, technology is being used to support victims of abuse, with the piloting of a Gender Rights in Tech (Grit), app which features a chatbot called Zuzi. The aim is to offer support and help gather evidence that could later be used in legal cases against abusers. The app is free to use, though it requires mobile data to download it.
Maternal Health Focus: Nigeria has enrolled over 6.5 million pregnant women in a “triple elimination” programme aimed at preventing mother-to-child transmission of diseases.
International Recognition: The UN continues to highlight the contributions of women of African descent, with July 25th designated to recognize their impact on society.

Community Spotlight: Shining Stars In Our Circle.
Last month, our Programs Manager, Zainab, marked her one-year anniversary with Inspire Her Afrika, and we had to take a moment to celebrate the amazing impact she’s made.
Behind every successful mentorship program, every smooth-running bootcamp, and virtual mastery sessions, there’s Zainab and her team working tirelessly to make sure African women get the support they deserve.
Zainab, thank you for pouring into this community with such excellence and intention. Here’s to many more years of building together with Inspire Her Afrika.
Get Involved: Your Support Can Change A Life.
Change starts with a small act of kindness.
